The show will consist of framed, semi-abstract landscapes and seascapes of the coastal areas of Pembrokeshire and of the mountains of Mid-Wales. The work is a mixture of both large and smaller works: oils, drawings, watercolours, mono prints and pastels. I will also be displaying a table of sketchbooks as this is where my work begins.

Artist Statement

Emma is a Welsh Artist living and working in the Cambrian Mountains, walking the hills and working from direct observation en plein air. These fast, loose drawings and paintings encapsulate the freedom of being outside in nature and are then later abstracted in the studio, retaining a deep-rooted connection to the land. She is drawn to the chaos and energy in the landscape, always returning to drawing, searching for the essence of the forms and the unknown within liminal spaces. She embraces serendipity and the accidental, letting the colour and expressive marks awaken a feeling in the viewer.
