Donna Flowers-Dorning
Inspired by her mum Fiona and grandad Arthur (both artists too) Donna has enjoyed drawing and painting from a young age.
Donna has a creative background in Fashion, sewing and all things Vintage.
In lockdown 2020 Donna began painting full time and started her Still life series.
Focusing on the collective imagination of places & memory, collaging with paint, elements of a place or feeling together, to create nostalgic pieces of contemporary Artwork. Relocating to Ulverston in 2021 gave Donna a greater platform to pursue her painting and creative endeavours with husband Chris in their Gallery/Shop.

Chris has been a professional and prolific painter / draftsman for over 30 years, working primarily over the last 20 years as a commercial mural painter all over the country, from theatre backdrops, restaurant / retail interiors and advertising, with a solid background in illustration, creative drawing, conceptual art works and storytelling.
His personal work revolves around a restless collection of ideas drawn from ancient history, nature, still life and the surreal juxtapositions of humans interacting with the world.
Chris has appeared on Blue Peter as a guest artist, hosted numerous drawing classes and workshops up and down the country and featured as a competing artist on Landscape Artist of the Year 2024
Together, Donna and Chris run the small independent art shop "Still Life" in Ulverston, south Lake District, where over the past 4 years have been selling their own artwork and hosting Life Drawing classes.
